In the long journey many Washington emergency nurses regularly take to attend their quarterly Washington ENA State Council meetings, they often bring with them goods or cash to donate to one of the service providers in the host hospital’s community.
Since 2016, the state council has supported about a dozen nonprofit organizations in the Washington communities where quarterly meetings are held.
Most, if not all, state councils give annually to ENA Foundation to help fund research and scholarships for their fellow emergency nurses, but more and more state councils and chapters are looking for ways to give back in their community, too.
